Hi Guys,

one cool thing that might be nice to have is a timer.
Set the timer and selected songs / playlist to play when timer is executed.
This way you could wake up with good music in the morning :)

Because, this way I might be able to offload the heavy duty HDD indexing to another more potent device and still use the Hifiberry DAC on the RPI1.

Wanted to bump this ... also here a reference to what I thought

Can anyone help with setup of DragonFly DAC and Spotify Connect using latest build (0.5). Never had any issues getting it to work on 0.4 with the original spotify connect installer (amazonen web one i believe) but tried all 3 versions listed here and can get spotify connect started to test but it never appears in spotify app on pc or phone to be able to select and connect to.

When testing i get the following (also names seem to be truncated at bottom) :

/root/spotify-connect-web.sh --name RuneAudio --device 1 --mixer PCM --username XXX --password XXX --bitrate 320
Loading Spotify library...
Last.fm: incomplete credentials, not launched
min_volume_range: 0.0
Using spotify-connect-web version: 0.0.4-alpha
Using libspotify_embedded version: master-v1.5.0-gfba69d71
SpInit: 0
public key: dkU5iAn9zW7SA3FpGM/wAhryibHxBmGv9g9XeGJhxpBTDRTZ+rVWZPfbgdgdshsgh2jhxLih5ul3nur7t8gjd7TY74HOvB72CxzBVHggF+XK6ws
device id: fea8b642-393a-4e82-a271-7b122aa39caf
remote name: neAudio <------Truncated
account req: MIUM <----------Truncated
device type: NOWN <----------Truncated

..nothing shows up in spotify on phone or PC app to be able to connect?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hey all,

0.5-beta currently rocking out on a Pi 3 b+ (2017) with a HiFiBerry DAC+ Pro. (Volume output seems lower than previous versions)
***EDIT - Seems I hadn’t set the volume control to Hardware on the MPD tab - nearly took my ears and speakers out***

I did notice that the I2S kernel module is showing RaspyPlay4 - even though I selected HiFiBerry DAC Plus Pro.
- Would I be as well hardsetting the HiFiBerry in the overlays section?

Few tiny tweaks like disabling the WiFi and BT all done as I run browsers over my LAN to use Rune.

QNAP iTunes (FireFly server) took a bit of figuring out, I ended up having to create a NAS user account with RO provilleges to the Multtimedia folder. CIFS auto discovered when I setup the Share in Rune and now it seems to work like a charm.

Just one question though:
From default install, is this beta set for true headless or does it load in display (7’ pane; drivers etc..) - I’m powering the Pi from a Netgear Clicksmart USB charger port at the moment so would like to trim out as much as possible.

Top job to the 0.5 beta-devs and happy holidays.

:)

On Rune 0.5b. RPI2 & Boss Dac works fine with spotify-connect-web_0.0.3-alpha_chroot.

Remember disable sound on board.

Thank you for all of the work on this update to 0.5 - running on Pi Zero W and it's great!

Will be updating my main HiFi system player to 0.5 soon but that means I have to hack a little to get my LCD display working too.

Many thanks again :D

Hi guys,

I am trying to use an old Pi A (no ethernet) with 0.5-beta. There is no accesspoint with my usb-wlan-adapter available (the chipset of the wlanstick supports the accespoint-feature). So I configured the wlan-connection manually by editing /etc/netctl/wlan0. Now the RuneAudio is connected to my network, but the UI displays the message:

RuneAudio is starting-up
The page you are looking for is temporarily unavailable

What can I do to become RuneAudio running?

Since you have seen the start-up message the Pi has reached its basic boot point, Rune should load from that point. There are a couple of possibilities to investigate first:
    - You have not waited long enough. A Pi Zero takes over a minute to boot, an old Pi A may take significantly longer. The first time boot takes quite a lot longer than a normal boot. You also need to manually refresh the browser window after the start-up message has been displayed.
    - The Pi A has run out of memory - Rune is built to run in-memory. This depends on your Pi A model, the earliest ones only had 256MB. Later ones had 512MB, which is sufficient and the same as a Pi Zero. If you have access to the console run:
    Code: Select all
    cat /proc/device-tree/model
This should give you the exact model type. On a Pi Zero the image runs in +/-230MB of memory after start-up, but I have no measurements of the memory usage during start-up.

Again, if you have access to the console, try running:
Code: Select all
dmesg
or:
Code: Select all
journalctl | grep -i -E "start|stop|reached|error|warning|loaded|loading" | head -n 150
The results of these commands may give you some clues as to what is going on.
