Hi porcupiney,

I have installed the 0.4beta from using the 20170229 image. That's a fine piece of coding!

Thank you.

BUT now the kernel selection options have changed, and I do not see the "Linux Kernel" and "HDMI & 3.4mm Jack" selection boxes

This is because the platform detection "getHwPlatform" does not work anymore with kernels > 4.9.30.

- get my latest image and write it to your SD card
- resize the SD card
- update your installation
Code: Select all
cd /srv/http/
git pull
git checkout 0.4b

- update the kernel, firmware and bootloader
Code: Select all
pacman -Sy --force raspberrypi-firmware raspberrypi-bootloader linux-raspberrypi

- set the correct kernel version
Code: Select all
root@runeaudio(rw):~# uname -a
Linux runeaudio 4.9.70-1-ARCH #1 SMP Mon Dec 18 19:28:42 UTC 2017 armv7l GNU/Linux
root@runeaudio(rw):~# redis-cli set kernel "Linux runeaudio 4.9.70-1-ARCH"

This is not tested with the latest kernel, but it should work.

Hi porcupiney,
Well, I was upgrading from the 20170229 image, and I did follow those steps - I saw correct values for kernel version and I got the "08" response...
As promised, I tried a kernel upgrade today, this worked without problems on Franks 20170229 image.

Hi hondagx35,
This is not tested with the latest kernel, but it should work.
I can confirm that it works up to 4.9.70-1-ARCH.

Hi jempie,

- Get access to the console:
Use SSH from your PC
If you are not familiar with SSH read this for Windows or this for Linux/MacOS
The default login for RuneAudio is "root" with the password "rune" (without quotes).

- Use sftp to access files on Rune Audio:
Get WinSCP from here and install it.
When it opens setup the following:
- Session
File Protocol: SCP
Host name: The IP address of you Raspberry Pi
User name: root
Password: rune

That's it, connect and you can transfer files just by dragging and dropping.

Hi,

Following the recent suggestions in this thread, I now seem to have successfully updated Frank's 20170229
image to the latest kernel:

Code: Select all
RuneAudio version / build

Ver. 0.4b build beta-20171222-DA
Active kernel

Linux version 4.9.70-1-ARCH (builduser@leming) (gcc version 7.2.1 20171128 (GCC) ) #1 SMP Mon Dec 18 19:28:42 UTC 2017
System time

Mon Feb 22 14:41:14 GMT 2016
refresh page to update
System uptime

01:00:01:05
refresh page to update
HW platform

RaspberryPi2 (08)

Although actually my hardware platform is a Pi 3...

Thanks everyone for the help. Let me know if there are any particular tests you would like me to run

About Qobuz streaming access, I am using my Qobuz streaming account with the BubbleUPnP app for Android, using the RuneAudio player as a UPnP/DLNA renderer. It works flawlessly, even with HiRes 192kHz 24 bit.

The only tricky bit is if you have active player queues running both on the Bubble and Rune, they are taking turns in what is played which can be surprising sometimes. It is best to clear the queue that is not used.
