Rune will not boot from USB

Firstly. I should say I'm a total novice. Anyway, I've set up my Pi3b to boot from USB rather than the micro SD slot. This works fine with Rasparian and Kodi but when I try Rune the boot sequence refuses to start. with no activity on the Pi and a blank screen. I would add that I'm using recommended USB flash drive ( scandisk cruser 16gb ) Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong, please?

Does Rune work with usb boot on the Rpi3? I will try it myself on the weekend but looking to save time if it is not yet implemented.

I tried it and Rune doesn't boot from usb. Is there a way to enable it easily like updating the kernel files then invading the sdcard and imaging that to a usb stick.

What is the reason for trying this?

My player has a sealed case and it is a hassle to open it up to change a sdcard. It is much easier to just swap a usb stick.

Yes I have thought of that. Haven't got one yet. I have used usb boot on some other operating systems and it works well albeit boot start is delayed about 5 seconds.
