Can someone please explain how to apply the kernel patch on Raspbian and Raspbian Lite to a rookie? The whole Pi 3 > Digi+ > Rune set-up is essentially useless with this channel swapping issue. Very frustrating!

Also from here a friendly welcome to you! :)

Thank you Frank, that seems to have worked (I'm using Pi 3 > Digi+ with a USB drive attached to the Pi). Seems to be a rather niche issue but something I'm sure a lot of audiophiles will run into as we want to use external DACs with our Pi :) Can that fix be implemented into a new software download? I was able to make the edits in Putty but it's not hugely intuitive to non-Linux users.

I'll also say that Rune is great, sounds awesome in my hi-fi, and has removed the laptop from my playback chain. Unfortunately though it gets difficult to recommend this form of music playback (in general) when one has to tinker with complex settings. Not a criticism aimed at you or Rune, just the way I see it as a fairly Windows-literate audiophile :)

Hi robertzombie,

Can that fix be implemented into a new software download?

Yes it can and will be done, but not within the next days.

Hello Frank

It looks like a fix has been developed for this problem - is it possible to provide a little more information on how to implement the changes needed. I know where the configuration file is but I do not have a clue on how to implement the other steps set out in your instructions in this forum post.

Would it be possible for you to provide some simpler steps to follow.

Regards

Paul

Simpler... may be an issue, right now (until a later version of Rune is released). But this may help...

SSH using Windows...
https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... windows.md

SSH using Linux or Mac OS...
https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... sh/unix.md

The default login for RuneAudio is "root" with the password "rune" (without quotes).

And this...

Hello Rastus / Frank

Thanks for the steer - used the SSH etc and it looks like have have sorted the problem of channel swapping.

Unfortunately it looks like I have done something to Spotify which was running OK (with the channel swap) before I made the changes. Now Spotify will not run - when trying to access Spotify I get the "continuous circle" symbol. There is a similar problem set out on the forum - using Putty to find the "fault log" it says that Runeaudio is failing to connect to Spotify. Spotify is running OK on all other devices.

Would be grateful for any suggestions.

Regards

Hello Frank

I still have the issue with not being able to play Spotify.

Rune recognises my playlists. When a playlist is selected the queue is populated but when a track is played nothing happens.

Is there a way to locate the configuration file for spoitify - another forum post uses the comman line - /etc/spop/spopd.conf - when I use this I get the following:

[root@runeaudio ~]# /etc/spop/spopd.conf: line 6: [spop]: command not found
-bash: /etc/spop/spopd.conf:: No such file or directory
[root@runeaudio ~]# /etc/spop/spopd.conf: line 7: spotify_username: command not found
-bash: /etc/spop/spopd.conf:: No such file or directory
[root@runeaudio ~]# /etc/spop/spopd.conf: line 8: spotify_password: command not found
-bash: /etc/spop/spopd.conf:: No such file or directory
[root@runeaudio ~]# /etc/spop/spopd.conf: line 11: audio_output: command not found
-bash: /etc/spop/spopd.conf:: No such file or directory
[root@runeaudio ~]# /etc/spop/spopd.conf: line 12: high_bitrate: command not found
-bash: /etc/spop/spopd.conf:: No such file or directory
[root@runeaudio ~]# /etc/spop/spopd.conf: line 13: offline_high_bitrate: command not found
-bash: /etc/spop/spopd.conf:: No such file or directory
[root@runeaudio ~]# /etc/spop/spopd.conf: line 17: cache_path: command not found

Any idea what might be happening?

Regards

Hi Paul,

you have to use an editor.

Type this on the commandline:
Code: Select all
nano /etc/spop/spopd.conf
