Raspberry Pi Zero Support in 0.4

Postby hpeter » 08 Jun 2016, 07:54

Hi,

i saw new Version 0.4 beta of RuneAudio on sourceforge for Raspberry Pi 2 and 3. Will the be Version for the Raspberry Pi 1, too?

Somewhere in the forum I read that the Raspberry Pi Zero will be supported in Version 0.4, too. Thats why I am asking.
I wanna use a Zero, which has the SoC of the Raspberry Pi 1.

thanks

Hi hpeter,

Will the be Version for the Raspberry Pi 1, too?

The next release version will also be available for RP1 and Zero.

I'm unable to support all images, because it is a very time consuming job.

Do you own a RP1?
If so, you can try to update the kernel on this image.
Code: Select all
pacman -Sy --force raspberrypi-firmware-bootloader linux-raspberrypi
sync

It then should be bootable alo on the Pi Zero.

Hey Frank,

thanks for your answer.

I understand its quite time consuming and I don't mind waiting for it. Thanks for you effort.

I do own a Raspberry 1 and already tried the update via pacman. Unfortenatly it did not work. But I will try it again, may be I did something wrong.

I will let you know, if I succeeded.

Does your Pi1 boot after the update?
Does Rune work on the Pi1 after updating?
If so you have to add the RP zero device tree.

I succeeded to buy Zero in Pimoroni shop :)
It is on his way to my postbox and I'm wondering how to use it with RuneAudio. I have Raspi 2, not Raspi1 and don't know anybody who has model one. Is there some other way to use Rune on Zero?
Low cost audio for everyday use: Raspberry Pi 2 -> USB sound card ->preamp+Low-pass Filter NE5532 ->2x TDA7492 amp -> 2 fullrange speakers + 1 bass speaker.

Hi flega,

Is there some other way to use Rune on Zero?

No, not yet.
We have to wait until someone with a RP1 & Zero gets it working.
As far as i know, no one in our team owns a RP Zero.

Hey Frank,

I tried to update the kernel image with the command:

Code: Select all
pacman -Sy --force raspberrypi-firmware-bootloader linux-raspberrypi
sync

using a clean image of rune audio for Raspberry 1, but with no success.

After the update neither the Raspberry 1 nor the Raspberry Zero are even starting anymore. I tried it two times with a fresh image.

Hey Flega, hey Frank,

if I get the image working for Raspberry Zero I can make an image and upload it somewhere.

Would be happy to help.

Thanks! You can put it in your Dropbox and send a link here. I'll try it and if it works maybe it is possible to put it in Download section
