Raspberry pi b+ and Nas synology = empty library ?

Postby kolo » 04 Dec 2016, 17:38

Hello,

I'm sorry in advance for my bad level of English but it's not my mother tongue.
So i will try to explain my problem the best i could.

I have got a Nas synology Ds214 play, a dac mydac and a raspberry pi model b+.
On which one, runeaudio is installed.
i can play music from a usb stick without problem.
i have made a network mount (in nfs) and it seems to be fine until this point.

But i have an empty library when i go to library page (as you can see in attachments).
i have try a lot of things (configurations) but nothing changed.
have you got an idea to help me ?
thank you.

this is my debug info : http://pastebin.com/SDKG6bjv

Hi kolo,

welcome to RuneAudio.

This looks like an permission problem.
Try to change the daemon user group to root:root in the mpd settings (MENU->MPD).
You also can try to add a user "mpd" to your synology configuration.

hi hondagx35, thanks for your help.

i have changed the daemon user group but i have a connecting "spinning wheel" loop (as you can see in attachement).
it doesn't stop :s
is it normal ? what can i do to stop it ?

For the synology, i can add an user but i must specify a password.
And i know that i can't put a login and password if i selected NFS for the fileshare protocol in "source page".

Hi kolo,

sorry i did not recognize that you have a RP1.
Please try to ssh to your device and reboot.
I have no RP1 available at the moment, so i can not test changing the daemon group.

Connexion to the pi with ssh = > ok but i don't know how changing the daemon group with command line (noob inside).
i found this link : https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Music_Player_Daemon/Troubleshooting
i have changed in /etc/mpd.conf the value of group : "audio" to "root"
And i have restarted mpd with :
systemctl stop mpd
systemctl start mpd

But it doesn't work, i have certainly forgot something.

However i have noticed this :
In the repertory /mnt/MPD/NAS/Synology
i can find all my files and repertories with the command "dir" or "ls"
but still nothing in the library (runeaudio webpage)

i found this link too : https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=171834
i will try tomorrow to test this last link

Do you have ideas or advices ...

rav666, i have already try but it's the same.

i have also tested :

- usermod -g root mpd (see the first attachment : info1.png)

- remove the line "group "mpd"" in /etc/mpd.conf (see this link https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=171834)

But nothing work for me :s
i m pretty sure that's certainly nothing, maybe a permision or something like that but what ?

I don't understand why i can retrieve my file like this :
cd /mnt/MPD/NAS/Synology
ls (or dir)

see the second attachment (info2.png)

You are not alone, if thats help :|

RASPBERRY PI (MODEL B+)
Release: v0.3-beta (29/10/2014)
Mcintosh C50 (USB 2.0 DAC)
Synology DS214play, NAS

An issue with the empty library here as well.
Zoran

PS. I have test it uby using a small USB drive and few FLAC albums... it works like a charm!
