Hi rlsten,

i will test the new Pi as soon as i have one.
We have to check if we need a new image for it, or if a modified / updated image will work.

Hi rlsten & hondagx35,
I got a Pi 3B+ last weekend, I thought it was a defective board, nearly sent it back because none of my software would boot on it. Finally, I got the board to boot with the latest KODI LibreELEC distribution (LibreELEC-RPi2.arm-8.2.4). This is a good way to test the hardware. Yesterday I tried to get a Rune image to work. This was based on my upgraded RuneAudio_rpi2_rp3_0.4-beta_20160321_2GB version, not Franks latest 0.4 version. I used this version only because I know it better than the latest one from Frank. So, what did I learn:
    1. None of the existing Rune images will work on the new Pi 3B+.
    2. An upgraded image should be able to work on the Pi 2B, 3B and 3B+.
    3. To get it to work the packages raspberrypi-firmware and raspberrypi-bootloader need to be upgraded to at least 4.14.26. These are generally only updated in combination with the kernel.
    4. Suggested upgrade command:
    Code: Select all
    pacman -Syy --force raspberrypi-firmware raspberrypi-bootloader linux-raspberrypi linux-firmware cifs-utils

I then ran into some problems, these could well be related to the version of Rune which I used. But I will document them for anyone else who wants to try. Bottom line is that I do not have a working image.

When I have time, I will try to repeat my actions with Franks latest version.

Hi janui,

I am hoping to get a Model B+ today, but you have saved me a lot of work trying the existing images on it. I don't know much about kernels and firmware, but for what it is worth the official Raspbian image (which has support for the B+) updated the WiFi firmware to

brcmfmac43455-sdio 7.45.154
brcmfmac43430-sdio 7.45.98.38

and is using Linux kernel 4.9.80+ and Raspberry Pi firmware 3347884c7df574bbabeff6dca63caf686e629699.

I don't know if that info has any relevance to Rune based as it is on Arch Linux.

Hi rlsten,
Here is my logbook for upgrading Franks image: http://www.mediafire.com/file/bbvc4w1xb ... ogbook.txt (sha-256: 14752C1678157995E23C893FB4200F9DE306973A53116C95E6D306240CAEA46E).
The resulting image boots on the 2B, 3B and 3B+, but still has significant problems on the 3B+.
