Radio feeds

Postby audio007 » 12 Apr 2017, 20:17

PI2, HIBerry DAC+, homemade Pre and Power Amps.

Sorry if this not in the correct part of the forum or been asked before, I have had a look around and not seen answers to these questions.

1. Is there a limit to the radio formats that Rune accepts and loads from its UI? I tried to add eight stations but only a five were accepted, even though the counter in the UI stepped up for each and now shows 8. (Attached is snapshot of file Staions I tried to add)
2. Is there a template for the Station URL / File that Rune requires, and could I alter one manually with say Notepad?
3. Dribble pages sometimes load quickly and sometimes quite slowly, is it stored and just the new/revised pages are reloaded?
4. Can I add a Dribble station to My Radio as a way of getting a shortcut?

Thanks to anyone who replies.

Hi audio007,

You only can use the stream URL.
2. Is there a template for the Station URL / File that Rune requires, and could I alter one manually with say Notepad?

No, they are stored as playlists. You can check a working station, the file is in /mnt/MPD/Webradio. Radio stations are also stored in the database.
3. Dribble pages sometimes load quickly and sometimes quite slowly, is it stored and just the new/revised pages are reloaded?

No, they are loaded every time you use them.
4. Can I add a Dribble station to My Radio as a way of getting a shortcut?

Yes, as all library entries dirble stations have a menu symbol at the right end. Click on it and a menu will pop up.

Thanks Frank.
And the count error, shows 8 but only 5 were 'accepted', how do I correct that?

Hi Peter,

And the count error, shows 8 but only 5 were 'accepted', how do I correct that?

I have no idea how this happened, but it seems like the files in /mnt/MPD/Webradio have been deleted.
We only way to fix this is to delete the entries in the database.

- get access to the console
- list the webradio entries from the database
Code: Select all
redis-cli hgetall webradios

may look like this:
Code: Select all
root@runeaudio(rw):~# redis-cli hgetall webradios
1) "Rock Antenne"
2) "http://mp3channels.webradio.antenne.de/rockantenne.aac"
3) "Rock Antenne Classic Perlen"
4) "http://mp3channels.webradio.rockantenne.de/classic-perlen.aac"

- delete the affected entries
Code: Select all
redis-cli hdel webradios "name"

e.g.
Code: Select all
redis-cli hdel webradios "Rock Antenne Classic Perlen"

Frank

- Get access to the console:
Use SSH from your PC
If you are not familiar with SSH read this for Windows or this for Linux/MacOS
The default login for RuneAudio is "root" with the password "rune" (without quotes).

- Use sftp to access files on Rune Audio:
Get WinSCP from here and install it.
When it opens setup the following:
- Session
File Protocol: SCP
Host name: The IP address of you Raspberry Pi
User name: root
Password: rune

That's it, connect and you can transfer files just by dragging and dropping.

OSX: Try Cyberduck

Thanks Frank.
I have used PuTTY once or twice before but never used WinSCP so I will take a deep breath and give it a go!

Using PuTTY gave me the following radio station list:

24) "BBC Cornwall"
25) "BBCWorldService"
26) "http://bbcwssc.ic.llnwd.net/stream/bbcwssc_mp1_ws-eieuk"

Looking down the list it seems lines could be deleteed.
11 and 12, they duplicate 9 and 10
17. It duplicates 10
19/20, and 23/24, they are the wrong order ??

Might be better to delete the lot and start again, what do you think?

Rune won't currently play the BBC .m3u8 format. It is supported in the release of MPD that the 0.4 Beta uses and we are patiently waiting for this to be implemented!
