Changing onscreen (virtual) keyboard Layout

Postby Alain » 17 Feb 2018, 16:07

Hi,

I haven't found the answer in this forum nor in the wiki... so i post this message:
Is-it possible to change the onscreen keyboard layout from QWERTY to AZERTY ?

I'm currently running runeaudio 0.4 beta on Raspberry Pi 3.
I've played with locale but unsuccessfully.

Best regards
Alain

Hi Alain,
See this for switching keyboard mapping: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ke ... in_console
These commands are the important ones: 'localectl list-keymaps' and 'loadkeys keymap', for you this would be: 'loadkeys fr'

Hi Juani,
Thanks for your help.
Unfortunatly, this was the wiki I've read.
After rebooting, I've:

Code: Select all
root@runeaudio(rw):~# localectl status
   System Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8
                  LC_MESSAGES=en_US.UTF-8
       VC Keymap: fr-latin9
      X11 Layout: n/a

I tried also with "fr" only (after rebooting)
Code: Select all
root@runeaudio(rw):~# localectl status
   System Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8
                  LC_MESSAGES=en_US.UTF-8
       VC Keymap: fr
      X11 Layout: n/a

But the onscreen keyboard are always in qwerty mode.
To be sure, the "onscreen keyboard" is the one displayed with (for exemple) the official rapsberry 7'' touchscreen?

Best regards
Alain

Hi Alain,

the used OnScreenKeyboard OSK only supports "qwerty" at the moment.

Hi Frank,

Thanks for the information, so it's no use continuing to search ;)
Hopefully it is not so critical.

Many thanks and have a nice day.
