Wifi issues

Postby dragos_nedelcu » 13 Oct 2017, 21:02

Hello,
Recently I encountered a new problem... Wifi and bluetooth on the raspberry pi 3b are gone. Just gone. Nowhere to be found. Looks like they burned. Tried in NOOBS and they are still gone. lsusb doesn't even mention them. Anyway, i had around one wifi dongle on usd that is Dlink dwl-g122 802.11g. It works on the laptop. But when i connected it to the raspberry, i am stuck with 'scanning for networks'. So it is recognized, i have a green wlan0 and a green eth0, but i cannot edit anything and it just looks for the network. I tried some of the tweaks in older topics, but just ended to reflash the sd, as it wasn't loading again.
any ideas?
using 0.4 beta

all the best,
Dragos

If you tried the NOOBS, and checked the shasum of the iso before flashing, this might indeed be a hardware fault. If I were you, post your issue on the raspberry forum, or check some of the posts here:

Hi dragos_nedelcu,

Solved it. I had to turn off AP. So simple. Now wifi is perfect ;)

This is because some WiFi dongles are not able to handle both (Station and AP) modes at the same time.
