Missing folders on USB hard drive

Hey folks,

Just got my RPI3 with RuneAudio up and running. I hooked up a USB hard drive, but I can only see folders up to the letter "C." Files play just fine, but I'd love to play music from artists that begin with letters other than A, B, or C.

I tried searching for a solution, but can't seem to find one. Other folks thought it might have something to do with MPD.

Any suggestions?

Your library is not fully indexed. MPD sometimes is a bit bitchy.
Are there any other files than music on your hdd?

You can turn on mpd logging (MENU->MPD) and rebuild the library.
In /var/log/runeaudio/mpd.log you should then see what interrupted mpd.

Thanks! I attempted to reindex, but to no avail. Still seems to get hung up in the "C"s. I deleted all extraneous files/folders from the hdd, so that only the folders with music remain, but I am seeing that there are other hidden folders/files that seem to be indexed as well. Perhaps it is worth reformatting the drive and then adding in the folders again?

I'll have a look at the MPD log when I get home.

Any resolution to this? I'm having a similar problem. I'm using a flash drive, a 128GB sandisk. Everything's arranged in separate albums on it. I added a few albums today, and some of them are showing up after rebuilding the index, but several of them aren't. I've tried rebuilding the database several times. I'm running the 0.4 beta version of runeaudio.

Never mind; it was apparently a permissions problem. For some reason these recent flacs I got from bandcamp had a very limited permission set. Fixed that, and they showed up.
