Hi,
after upgrading the kernel, bootloader, and firmware initially to kernel 4.9.16-1, but persiting in the most recent 4.9.21-1, MPD gets stuck when attempting to play 24 bit/44.1 kHz and 24 bit/48 kHz FLAC files. 16 bit/44.1 kHz FLAC play without problem as strangely also 24 bit/192 kHz FLAC. This happens as well on Pi2 as Pi3 with Hifiberry DAC+ (see System Info below).
In the RuneUI the timer runs, but no sound from start of the track. Trying to restart MPD with "systemctl restart mpd" gets also stuck. Manual kill -9 `cat /var/run/mpd/pid` results in mpd in "defunct" state (ps -ef).
Kernel, bootloader, and firmware downgrade from the archive in /var/cache/pacman/pkg/ with pacman -U
warning: downgrading package linux-raspberrypi (4.9.21-1 => 4.4.42-1)
warning: downgrading package raspberrypi-bootloader (20170404-1 => 20170114-1)
warning: downgrading package raspberrypi-firmware (20170321-1 => 20170114-1)
to 4.4.42-1 etc. brings full functionallity back. Does anybody else experience such problems with 4.9.x kernels?
