Playing .m3u8 files

Postby ianhaynes » 11 Jan 2017, 16:14

I know this is possible by installing Minim Server but I wonder if there's a simpler way.

The MPD release history shows that support for *.m3u8 was added at v0.19.2. The latest Rune build appears to run MPD v0.19.13 and looking at mpd -V, it shows the m3u Playlist plugin installed.

Is there anything we can do or setting we need to change to enable us to play .m3u8 ? (I'm primarily thinking of the UK BBC 320k feeds).

I have just discovered m3u8. The BBC 320k feeds sound superb playing through Chromecast Audio via VLC on Android. I would love a Runeaudio solution to play m3u8 through my Allo Digione.

Dreddguy,

Try running the MPD update addon.

Rune has been able to play the BBC 320k feeds for quite a while now.
