PiCobber wiring

Postby neanderthaler » 23 Mar 2017, 20:59

Hi all,
I'm trying to recycle a "DAC PiCobber v2.1", which is designed for Pi A or B (without "+") with P5 connector, running at HiFiBerry setup in Rune and volumio.
I'd like to use it on a Pi2. Of course, separate cabling has to be made, the GPIO connectors won't work.
I'm sure that there existed a wiring scheme, maybe in this forum, but I can't find it again.
Any ideas where to search?
Thanks!

For the googling posterity:
I found some wiring advice at http://www.tjaekel.com/T-DAC/files/RPi-Bplus_guideline.pdf.
Can't test it ATM, but looks good. We'll see.

HEUREKA!
It's up and running.
In addition to Torstens scheme it is necessary to add a wire for power supply.
Therefore, the complete wiring:

Code: Select all
Pi+/2/3 --- DAC
J8           P5
2  ---5V----- 1
12 ---BCK---- 3
35 ---LRCK--- 4
40 ---DATA--- 6
39 ---GND---- 7

Of course, nowadays there's no need to patch the kernel. Just enable I2S (HiFiBerry DAC) in Rune's "Settings", reboot and switch to HiFiBerry DAC in "MPD" section.

And now it's time to turn that button
