One more question regarding network mount. (solved)

Postby Andrew_l » 14 Aug 2016, 10:54

Hello guys!
The question is, I have a DLNA Minim Server which is installed on Ubuntu 14 Server. Kodi ( XBMC) and other prorgrams like this distinguish my Minim Server but not Rune. I switched on the UPnP/DLNA toggle in the Settings of Rune and named a DLNA server as MinimServer. The following my settings in NAS Mounts of Rune:
Source name MinimServer ( this name of DLNA I see in my home network)
Fileshare protocol NFS
IP address 192.168.1.33
Remote directory Music
Then I recieve an error : 'mount nfs: connection timed out'
If I switch Fileshare protocol to SMB/CIFS I recieve an error:
'mount error(22): Invalid argument refer to the mount cifs(8)
If I play with 'Mount flags' ( like some guys adviced here) in Advanced options
then I recieve different errors.
I will be grateful for any tips.
P.S. I'm really pleased to use amazing Rune Audio, the best renderer from free software, I could hear
Regards,
Andrew

Hi Andrew_l,

you are mixing things.

- Rune can only be used as an UPnP renderer. You need a server, control point and a renderer.
- Rune can mount / use shared music libraries wit protocols like SMB and NFS

Rune has its own user interface and mainly made for standalone usage.

So what do you like to achieve?

Hello Frank!
Thank you for your quick and kind reply.
If I understood you correctly, Rune can't connect directly to my DLNA server which is in my home network as a Rune and play music from it. My aim is, the shared disk of my DLNA server will appear in Rune 'Network mounts' and I could play a music from the shared disk. If it's possible what I have to do for that?
Regards,
Andrew

You have to share the music folder from your Ubuntu server on your network.
This can be done by using NFS or SMB.
If not yet done install and configure NFS-server on your Ubuntu PC.
After that you can mount this folder on RuneAudio.
