I haven't tried the Android image. But UBUNTU Mate only took about minutes to start up the first time - didn't time, but maybe 5-10 minutes?! Using Samsung EVO UHS-1 32GB SDHC card.

My friend installed Android OS images and play 4K video very smooth with build in media player.

Yes u are rite. My microsd card had bad sectors. I tried another one last night that it ran well already
