No Webradio Playback - RESOLVED

Postby ianepperson » 21 Jan 2016, 10:06

I'm trying to setup this old RaspberryPi (Pi1, model B) as a web radio player, downloaded the Rune Audio image, plugged it in and ran it, but it will not play any web radio station. (Add the station to "My Webradios", select it and "Add, replace and play" but nothing happens.) I've tried a few different stations that play in other players, and even tried a station recommended on these boards as a test (Linn Radio) but none play. I was able to successfully use Airplay to ensure that the audio output works, but I really want to use this as a stand-alone radio player.

I logged in and verified that it is resolving DNS (ping yahoo.com works) and updated to the latest install via git. I have no USB drive plugged in - nothing other than the SD (HC) card. Here is my debug output:

I logged into the redis-cli to check the webradio setting:
Code: Select all
127.0.0.1:6379> hgetall webradios
1) "Secret Agent Mix - SOMA FM"
2) "http://somafm.com/secretagent130.pls"
3) "Linn Radio"
4) "http://radio.linnrecords.com/cast/tunein.php/linnradio/playlist.pls"
5) "SOMA FM - Underground 80s"
6) "http://somafm.com/u80s.pls"
7) "SOMA FM - Secret Agent"
8) "http://somafm.com/secretagent130.pls"
127.0.0.1:6379>

I select "My Webradio" and see the radio stations

I select the right-hand grab, and click "Add, replace and play"

Now I see a message saying it's playing, but no music comes out and the play icon does not light.

Going to the playback page, I see it cued up, but again nothing is playing. Pressing play performs no action - still no music.

I just discovered that if I add a second station to the queue and turn on repeat, every time I hit the play button it changes the displayed station, but still does not play. Am I using bad URLs?

The URLs were bad. SOMA FM publishes other URLs (called direct playback) that function properly.

Thanks!
