No sound in 0.5 Beta for 24/96

Postby buckaroo » 02 Feb 2019, 03:37

Hi -- I just installed 0.5 in my RPi 3b, and am trying to work out the kinks. One issue that has come up is that I can't play HD tracks that are 24bit/96kHz FLACs -- they appear to play in the playback screen, but there is no sound. Strangely, I do not have this problem with 24/192 tracks. What might be going on here?

EDIT to add: I'm using a HiFiBerry DAC+ Pro

OK, this is weird -- I went back to a fresh install of 0.4, and am still having this problem. Prior to messing with the upgrade to 0.5, everything worked -- all of my 24/96 stuff played. Now it doesn't. Is there a setting somewhere that I'm overlooking?

Hi buckaroo,
I have just tested all flac formats on my installation (Pi 3B+ and HiFiBerry DAC+ Pro). They all work fine.
You should test the SHA-256 checksum of your downloads, and then try reflashing your Micro SD card. Since you are having problems with 0.4 and 0.5 it could be that your Micro SD card is faulty, you could try a reformat or integrity check.

Good idea, I'll give that a go. Thank you!
