Multi room capabilities with Snapcast

Help wanted! How to contribute to RuneAudio project

Hi
I think developer like to make multi-room system with more RPi (or other device). Problem is with synchronization. I think it can be done with I2S DAC. I2S protocol use master clock, witch can be use for synchronization. If will be interest I will try to do it.

My board at this moment have own DAC with 4x stereo amplifier, and it can be attach second board so you got extra 4 (stereo) output on one RPi or other device. Board also contain all (unused) RPi ports. So you can attach LCD-s, keys, etc...
My solution is much cheaper than 4 (8) RPi with hifiberry. Quality of sound is the same or better! My system can be use in one big room with up to 16. individual driven! speaker, or you can use it in more rooms (like me). You only need speaker cable to each room. It is good solution for bathroom and outside house, where are a lot of humidity or where is no power or wi-fi signal.

I completely agree - this would be the absolute killer feature I've been waiting for a long time!
Please send your patches and integrate them ASAP

Hi bibomator,

i totally agree.

I have snapcast running here and it works great.
The "only" thing we have to do is to integrate it in our GUI.

At the moment i'm very short in time to do this, but it is for sure the next thing i will work on.

Hi,

I'm also interested in this :)
If something is missing for you in Snapcast, just tell me. Like controlling of zones (adding, removing) is on the roadmap.

I was just asking about this in the feature request forum. I would like to test on this. I know how to use Linux for the most part if I have instructions on how to perform said task.

I would like to test this out if I can get the setup / integration instructions. I run RPi's.

I would donate money to the coders if this helps the project.. I am also planning to donate money to the Rune Audio team as well..

I just bought another RPi 3 to try an get Snapcast going for fun ..

I put some money down just to say thanks to all the RuneAudio devs..

I would pay the other guy who developed the unofficial UI spec if I could have a chance to try it out (probably would love it too)..

Would it be possible to push this to a github repo so we could have a look at it ?
thanks

+1

I just got Snapcast working on my Raspberry Pi 3 running RuneAudio. I'd really like to have the GUI integration so I don't have to redo the config after every reboot. I'd much rather contribute to work that is in progress rather than duplicate effort.
