Loss of complete library

Postby ianhaynes » 07 Jan 2016, 15:23

I've had a problem several times over the last few days which seems to occur when Rune has been left on for an extended time with a completed playlist, ie after it has all played. If I then clear the Playlist and go to the Library, the' Browse Your Library' screen is completely blank.

A system reboot doesn't resolve the problem and the solution is to turn it off and restart.

RP2, IQAudioDac+.

Debug info at http://pastebin.com/TMZ4H1pW

Any help appreciated

The Library wouldn't appear after a restart so I looked at music I added today. It looks as though this might have been caused by a filename with brackets in it. "It Don't Mean A Thing (If it ain't Got That Swing).flac". It seemed supicious so I removed the brackets and the library appeared again.

Hopefully solved....

Getting this problem again. It may, as before, have been caused by file metadata with brackets in the track titles but having removed these brackets I still can't get the library screen back. The 'Browse Your Library' screen is completely blank.

I can still 'Search in DB' and that gives results but that's the only thing that works.

I've tried rebooting and rebuilding the MPD Library from the Sources page but no change.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi ianhaynes,

Any suggestions appreciated.

Please try:

- connect via IP address not http:/runeaudio
- connect to your device with a second browser (at same time)
- clear your browser cache
- get access to the console and add songs manually to a new playlist
Code: Select all
mpc ls "NAS/Musik/David Gilmour" | mpc add

or to add all songs
Code: Select all
 mpc ls | mpc add

I was able to get the library back by shutting down the system and restarting (a warm reboot didn't solve the problem). I haven't therefore tried all your other suggestions.

The brackets in file names/track names doesn't seem to be the problem but did seem to be connected in some way.

I am now able to reproduce the problem by going to the Network settings and using 'Refresh Interfaces'. If I then:

a) open a new browser tab in the same browser and go to the ip address, the Library page magically appears in both tabbed pages.

b) open another browser and go to runeaudio.local, the library page again appears in both browsers.

Your help appreciated, thanks.

I'm using Firefox 46 on Win 7 x64. I've tried the same scenario in IE11 and Chrome and it doesn't happen with either of those. Yet I can reproduce it repeatedly in FF.

We had some reports of very strange malfunctions lately, and it turned out that some antivirus softwares are blocking websockets in some cases. Could you please try to temporary disable your AV and see if that affects the behaviour?

Turning AV off hasn't made any difference but it does appear to be machine related. If I try the same thing on another machine with the same version of FF it all works correctly.
