HDD connection on router

Postby Bjarne » 07 Oct 2014, 17:08

Hi

I got a Asus RT N66U router with USB where I can connect a USB HDD.
Does anybody know if it's possible to play the music on it with Rune Audio?
Just connecting it to the router I can see it in windows explorer :)

Thanks in advance

That should be a Samba share, so the answer is yes.
Go to Menu > Sources > Add new mount, select "SMB/CIFS" as Fileshare protocol, put your router's IP address and set correctly the Remote directory (you have to know it to make it work). That's all...

Thanks :)

I know the IP and set it to "SMB/CIFS", but I'm not shure about the Remote dir.
I have tried different path according to picture, but without success :(

Music is playing :)
But there is no cover art?
There is a jpg file called "Folder.jpg" in same dir as music.

How many mounts is it possible to make to the same HDD on my router?
I tried to make 9 because my music is placed in different genres and to avoid too much clicking down path.
But it only mounts a part of them and when remount all it's a different number that is mounted?

Why don't you use the "Add to favorites" feature for that? You find it the contextual menu of each folder.

Excellent :)
But back to my question. Is there a limit for how many mounts you can make?

Not that I know of, but I never tested it with so many mounts...
