Files in Mount Point not visible in Library

Postby PerLinden » 07 Sep 2018, 13:15

I am trying to get access to files in my NAS (Synology DS218) to build a library in Rune.
The Mount Point is accepted by Rune.
When I open it to add files to the Playlist, I find the mount is empty.

In SSH, I can see my NAS Mount Point.
I can also see the files in this NAS folder, the listing is correct.

I attach a log from a Putty session.
May be somebody can see what is the problem by checking all the flags for the mount ?
I have no clue for now !
When these files are located on an USB HD, Rune has no problem to read/play the files.

Thanks !

Hi PerLinden,

this is a permission issue, MPD uses its own user (mpd) to access the share.

Check the settings on your NAS

I am not a Synology guru, so please search the forum.

SOLVED (at least partly)
---------------------------------

Thanks again Frank !

It seems the MPD Daemon setting to "root:root" is critical here.

I can now create mount Points on my Synology DS218.
The Rune error messages "access denied" and "timeout" are frequent when attempting to mount.

Could it be the NAS is occupied by some task and does not answer quickly enough ?
I am the only user of the NAS however.
Increase timeout in Rune ?

Regards
