Extreme distortion when playing over Airplay on USB DAC

Hi there,

I was able to successfully set up Rune v0.4 in the Raspberry Pi 3 and log in to my Spotify premium subscription. Got also really pleased to see my external USB DAC (Rotel RDD-06) listed as an output option and working well with spotify - something that never happened with neither Moode nor Volumio, who were not able to "see" my DAC.

The problem appeared when I tried playing Spotify on my iPhone (or mac) and AirPlay to Rune on the pi3. The audio output is extremely distorted, sounding very metallic making it even difficult to realize that it was actually playing the same song I had on spotify.

Has anyone had the same problem? Any idea how to correct it?

I have te same problem. I'm using a raspTouch with a DAC ES9018K2M and raspberry pi 3.
The stream is from my iPhone using Airplay. There is an awful noise coming out of my speakers in which I can hardly hear through the noise what music is playing.
Although I think that the system needs some configuration it is playing great from local usb storage.

Where/how do I get the lastest TEST version for RPI2/3? The only version I can find on DOWNLOADS section is from 2016.
