Can't get started! help!

Postby McFly » 25 Mar 2017, 20:24

HI Everyone!

Looking for help now...

Just got my pi3 with hifiberry digi+ hat. Also, WD PiDrive 1TB HDD to be added to the equation later on. All excited, I followed all instructions (with win32diskimager) to write image file on my sd card (4gb kingston, FAT32) and get the thing going. As I plug the card in and put the juice...nothing. Screen is dead blank. Nothing.

- added this line in config : device_tree_overlay=hifiberry-digi
- red light steady
- green light slowly blinking
- PIDrive 3A PSU

I'm not a proficient programmer, more of a DIYer / audio enthusiast
I installed OS on sd cards before...but now, I have no clues!

Any issues with img files known?

Hi McFly,

i would try to get it working without the hifiberry card and hdd first.

You also can try this image.

thanks!

I tried the image you refer to, without success. I will now try without the digi+ and the HDD. À suivre...

Just tried with a new SD card, pi3 alone with hdmi and a monitor plugged in the DVI port. The same blank screen, with some flickering every 5-6 seconds. Could it be anything to do with config file, hdmi modes or something?

Finally works!

After some search about display options, modified/enabled those lines in the config file :

hdmi_drive= 1

hdmi_group=2
hdmi_mode=35

Hi McFly,

great to hear that it now works for you.

So I guess you did not try the web interface before.
Rune Audio is designed manly as a headless player (remote web Interface).
The HDMI output is normaly not the main interface.
If you like to use the HDMI port with a monitor and mouse attached you also need to enable the cursor.
Please search the forum if this is needed.

Thanks, I did not know I could use a mouse and a screen! Using it headless so far. Works perfectly
