Audiophonics Sabre DAC 9023 V3 receiving no power

Postby leits10 » 24 Jan 2017, 17:41

I recently purchased this DAC for a RPI3 and can not get any power to the DAC. I live in the United States so I tried a US plug adapter with the included European power supply but that did not work. I also tried an american 6V plug I had but still not power. The Pi is running Rune v0.3-beta and powers up on its own thru its micro plug and works with an external DAc so the issue is not with the Pi. I need help troubleshooting the Audiophonics 9023 V3. Has anyone had a similar issue or is anyone using it in the US with no issues?

All I can think of is the following three possibilities:
1. Maybe it will not work on a 110 and needs 220?
2. Is it a programming issue I missed?
3.1. Is the DAC faulty? I have contacted Audiophonics but haven't heard back from them

Thank you for any help and suggestions
Dave

Hi Dave,

The Pi is running Rune v0.3-beta and powers up on its own thru its micro plug

With the Sabre DAC installed you do not need an extra power supply for your Pi, because it will get power from the DAC.

Please see the documentation
You need a momentary or non-latching switch (push to make) to activate the ATX like power supply.
A 6 - 7V external power adapter should work.

To get all the comfort from the DAC you also need a LED and a few scripts installed on Rune.
Please first try to get it working with a simple button.
After that i will guide you through the rest.
