Audiophonics ES9023 V3 DAC no sound

Postby dawidku » 18 Nov 2016, 12:04

I use Raspi 3 with Audiophonics ES9023 V3 DAC and have no sound.

I have checked forum and implemented change in boot.txt, selected HifiberryDAC device in RuneUI but still nothing.
Can someone help me to troubleshoot this, is it possible to check if DAC is working properly?

Here is my debug data: http://pastebin.com/raw/jEF0qKM9

Thank you

Can you determine form the debug that DAC hardware is working?

Hi dawidku,

Can you determine form the debug that DAC hardware is working?

No, this is not possible with the HifiberryDAC driver.
I can see that the driver gets loaded correctly and that you have selected the correct output.

Please check your DAC connection especially the MCLK (leave it unconnected).

Frank

I have not connected anything, DAC simply sits on top of RasPi connecting via GPIO.

Do I connect power to RasPi and this feeds power to the DAC or other way around?

Hi dawidku,

as far as i know, you have to power the DAC.

Yes 6 to 12 volts to the DAC. No power is required for the Raspberry Pi.
