Album list in Excel or similar?

Postby ianhaynes » 06 Oct 2018, 18:10

When buying secondhand CDs I sometimes duplicate ones I've already got. I'd like to have an album list on my phone that I can easily refer to. Ideally an Excel version.

Is there any way of extracting an album list, perhaps with the artists as well, directly from the MPD database? I've tried printing the Album List page and can do so as a pdf document but it's a large document.

Any thoughts?

Hi Ian,

you can try this:

- point your browser to the following URL:
Code: Select all
http://192.168.0.60/command/?cmd=list albumartist group album

or
Code: Select all
http://192.168.0.60/command/?cmd=list album group albumartist

replace "192.168.0.60" with your IP address (RuneAudio).

- save the resulting page as htm file

- open it in a text editor like notepad++

the result should look like this:
Code: Select all
AlbumArtist: Alanis Morissette
Album: Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie
AlbumArtist: Alanis Morissette
Album: Under Rug Swept
AlbumArtist: Albert Collins
Album: The Ice Axe Cometh: The Collection 1978-86

Brilliant, thank you! Exactly what I needed. Copied into an Excel file the result is only 53Kb and easily loads on my phone.
